Sharks revel in the wet
There is a real spring in the step of every person involved with the Central Coast Sharks at the moment which is totally understandable. The sharks have started the season 2-0 which has never been done in franchise history. With a for-and-against of 75-6 you can see why motivation is high and team spirit is through the roof.
On Saturday night the Sharks ventured into enemy territory to take on their local rivals the Newcastle Cobras. In what can only be called atrocious conditions the Shark herd was in an attacking frenzy and dominated the Cobras across the field winning 46-0.
With the ball as slippery as a piece of soap you would have expected plenty of errors and a low scoring game. Not the Sharks! They thrive in the water and put the shiver through the opposition. Every player both young and old, rookie and veteran put in the effort to keep the Cobras scoreless.
Quarterback Jordan Nikora throw for over 270 yards and finished with 6 touchdowns to his name. Three of those went to young gun Josh Taylor who put up 150 yards in receptions. Not to be out down by Josh, Eamonn Akamarmoi continued where he left off from the last game and put up two of his own touchdowns.
Mitch Higgins continues to impressive with his kicking scoring 6 points whilst also chiming in with a few sacks on the Cobras quarterback who had a torrid time of it.
The Sharks come up next week against UTS who they defeated in great style last year. Belief is high and the Shark shiver is ready to attack. This season has only just begun yet you get the feeling something big is about to happen.
The Sharks can smell the blood in the water!!
